Juanita Copeland Named Partner

George and Chad Shinn, owners of Nashville's legendary Sound Emporium Studios, are pleased to announce the promotion of Juanita Copeland to President/General Manager, as well as adding her as a partner in the business stating, “She is the heart and soul of the Sound Emporium and her passion and love for the studio is a big reason for our continued success.” The historic studio, home to ten 2016 Grammy nominations, has a reputation as Nashville’s premiere recording studio. As a result of her leadership and management, the studio has secured an elite family of clients including; Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Joan Baez, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, EmmyLou Harris, Don Williams, The hit ABC show Nashville, The Alabama Shakes, Jason Isbell, Cole Swindell, Sturgill Simpson, Little Big Town, Chris Isaak, Cyndi Lauper and Drive By Truckers, to name a few. The Sound Emporium appeals to all musical genres from Traditional Country, Rock, Blues, Rap and Americana.

Ms. Copeland, a respected member of the Nashville Music Business Community for over twenty-five years, started her career at Mercury Records Nashville in 1990. Her first office at Sound Emporium was in 1995 as Operations Manager for the Almo Sounds label, which was run out of the studio for a short time until they moved into a building of their own. Almo Sounds, the record label owned by Herb Alpert & Jerry Moss of A&M Records fame, was run by previous studio owner, Garth Fundis (Sound Emporium owner from 1992-2011). After the label closed, Juanita went on to become studio manager a few years later. Chad Shinn relies heavily on Juanita's experience and calls her "the best studio manager in Nashville, bar none. She is such an integral part of our success."

One of the reasons George Shinn purchased the studio was to preserve a piece of Nashville's Music History. Ms. Copeland has played a pivotal role in that preservation by working very hard to restore the original look and "vibe" created by the studio founder, Cowboy Jack Clement.

The owners and staff congratulate Juanita Copeland on her promotion to President/General Manager and partnership. We look forward to many more successful years ahead.
